The Story of Soplex Insurance
Since 2009, Soplex has developed unique expertise in specialized insurance. We have evolved from a brokerage firm into a comprehensive underwriting solution, driven by innovation and the trust of our partners. Today, with a team of over 40 experts and a diverse range of services, we focus on protecting what matters most—delivering agile and high-performing solutions for both standard and non-standard markets.
Our Story
It all began in 2009 when Patrick Bouchard founded Bouchard et Associés, a damage insurance brokerage firm. From the outset, he established a strong foundation of expertise in specialized insurance.
In 2016, our firm was able to act as an underwriter thanks to our first delegation from Échelon, which allowed us to place risks on behalf of the insurer. Initially, we collaborated with only four brokerage firms, but our network gradually expanded over time.
This first delegation was followed in 2019 by a delegation from Lloyd’s, marking a significant milestone in our ability to offer solutions tailored to market needs. With the continued growth of our underwriting business, it became essential to better structure our activities.
As a result, we created PlanB in 2020 to separate our brokerage and underwriting functions, enabling more efficient management and greater specialization in each area. Initially, our offerings were quite niche within the substandard market; however, thanks to our expertise and increasing demand, our broker client base quickly expanded.
A significant development
Thanks to our commitment and the trust of our partners, we have experienced sustained growth. In July 2022, PlanB merged with Soplex Inc., resulting in the formation of Soplex Insurance Solutions. Today, our team consists of more than 40 professionals, and our premium volume continues to grow. In 2024, we recorded an impressive growth rate of over 45%.
We now provide customized insurance solutions for both individuals and businesses, covering a wide range of sectors, including real estate, hospitality, restaurants, construction sites, unions, vacant buildings, contractors, and much more.
With our network of various insurers, we are able to offer both standard and substandard insurance options, always with our core ambition: to innovate, adapt to market needs, and provide optimal protection solutions.
